Yes, once again the opportunity for the St Louis Rams to ruin my enjoyment of following the NFL has rolled around.

I think I'll pick Pittsburgh as my second team because they have the worlds only black korean Superbowl MVP playing for them.

Week One

Pats came back with 2 TD's in the last 2 minutes from Giseles husband. Keep your eye out for "NFL Primetime" on Ch34 too for those interested.

Saints absolutely dominated the Lions. Brees looks good at the start of the season. Pats had me worried for a while. Brady isn't really a comeback king.

Bills, Bengals and Raiders were all pretty unlucky to lose. Sanchez looking good at the Jets, finding his feet.

Seahawks 28 Rams 0

So let's see then... I follow the Warriors, ABs, Blues, Auckland, Kiwi's, NZ cricket team, the Rams and Newcastle United.

Not one of my finest years.

Steelers QB looked f**king great the other night but that was the only game I caught.

Will watch the Padres with interest.

Rothlesburger (sp) is a beast of man for a Quarterback and has had some off-field dramas during the off season but Pittsburg will be hard to topple.

The standards a bit lower this year imho - less marquee players going around.

Clearly Vick is a way down the list at the moment...

"The one negative in an otherwise spectacular opener for Philadelphia was that McNabb suffered a cracked rib. His status is undetermined for Sunday and if he is unable to go, backup Kevin Kolb or the recently signed Jeff Garcia could take his place."

Week 3

Michael Vick made a brief return for Philly.
Brett Favre threw a game winning TD for the Vikings.
The Colts & Pats really flexed their muscles.
The Detroit Lions won for the first time since well beforeObama became Pressy.

And the Chargers won (vs Miami)

Yes, and now the Rams have the worst losing streak in the NFL.

Oh how I try to shut it all out and remember back to the greatest show on turf in these times of woe.

Chargers roll on with a late win vs grieving Bengals

11-3 and the 3rd best record in the NFL behind the (still) unbeaten Colts & the Saints who lost for the 1st time yesterday.

Vikes went down to Panthers, noone saw that coming...

Pittsburgh 37 v Green Bay 36
Pittsburgh get ball with 2:06 left on their own 14yard line. Get to Packers 46yard line, then 10yd penalty.
With 20yds left, Packers J Bush intercepts the ball. Referee's challenge, found that Packers made illegal contact, interception is reversed.
Steelers keep driving, get the ball to the 19yard line. With time expired, Ben Roethlisberger passes to Mike Wallace for a touchdown.
Big Ben passed for 503 yards, a Steelers record and impressive against the 2nd-best defense in the league.

Oakland Raiders 20 over Denver Broncos 19
JaMarcus Russell made winning pass to Chris Schilens with 39 seconds left.

San Francisco 49ers lose to Philidelphia Eagles 27-13
Frank Gore became first player to rush for over 100 yards against the Eagles in 24 games.
Eagles have a one-game lead for the NFC wildcard over the Dallas Cowboys, with the two meeting in the final week of the season.

Chargers 27 over Bengals 24, field goal w/ 3sec left
Chris Henry died, Ochocinco
Chargers 17-straight games in December since 2006 and sew up division.
Bengals loss brings Steelers and Ravens close to overtaking them

New York Jets lost to Falcons 10-7 and are pretty much out of the playoffs, with the Patriots and Dolphins ahead of them and strong wildcard contenders in the AFC.
Also Bucs beat Seahawks 24-7, Texans over Rams 16-13, Titans over Dolphins 27-24, Patriots 17 over Bills 10, Cleveland Browns 41 over Kansas City Chiefs 34 and Cardinals 31 over Detroit Lions 24 to win their division.

Dallas Cowboys over New Orleans Saints 24-17.
Saints come back from 24-3 down at halftime. Nick Folk misses field goal with 2:16 left, Saints rally with no timeouts.
Cowboys have not had a winning record in December since 1996 [2-1], the last year they won a playoff game, and cannot win this December after already losing 2 games. Cowboys and Saints both last made the playoffs in 2006.

Colts 35 over Jaguars 31.

Playoff picture;

1. Colts 14-0
2. Chargers 11-3
3. Patriots 9-5
4. Bengals 9-5
Wild Cards

Thing I like about this comp is that when the playoffs start theres none of this MacIntyre System/Duckworth-Lewis contrived nonsense.

You lose your gone.

The way the weather is in the States now its an odds on chance an East Coast team will win it all this year - very difficult for a team like Arizona or even my Chargers to travel East and win in the snow.

Next you'll be saying a dome team can't win! [Vikes, Cards, Saints, Colts]

Maybe the Colts but the others are toast IMHO Naly.

If your looking for a 'smoky' to go all the way look no further than the Ravens defence to get them to the Superbowl.

Gotta make the playoffs first though.
