NFL Game of the Week with Hamish Girvan Bills v Giants
0The first thing Ryan did when he got the Buffalo job was get his tattoo changed from Jet Green to Bills Blue
In the 2010/11 season Rex Ryan was a game away from Super Bowl and had a quarterback in Mark Sanchez who looked unstoppable – three seasons on he was fired from the New York Jets however he had a job two weeks later up the road in Buffalo. What does that tell you ? Ryan is a reasonable coach and has achieved more then many in the NFL. The Buffalo Bills are an OK team with their only loss so far to the Patriots – understandable. They comprehensively beat division rivals the Miami Dolphins last week putting over 40 points on them. This week they host a team from down the road in New Jersey in the New York Giants.
The Giants started the season in the worst possible fashion leading both games in the fourth quarter and then going on to lose. Coach Tom Coughlin and his Quarterback Eli Manning both possess two Super Bowl rings so experience when you need to win is there. Last week they got a W against the Redskins however this week could be a tougher task. Last season’s breakout wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr pulled off the catch of the season – maybe even in NFL history – however he has not started to show his true colours yet. This week may not be a great match up for him either.
The Bills have a typical Rex Ryan formidable defence and a quarterback in Tyrod Taylor who is really nothing special but is efficient enough to get the job done – sound familiar from Ryan’s previous Jets team’s ?
The Bills are given a touchdown start here in the betting stakes which is probably a fair call however the Giants should not be underestimated. As pro gamblers always say whenever in doubt take the home team. Bills for the win here.
Don’t forget to follow Hamish.
