In a surprise addition to the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola world schedule, it has been announced today that Coca-Cola will be bringing the trophy to New Zealand on April 27th, 2010 for one day.

World football’s greatest prize is set to visit New Zealand as part of a global tour that has already visited 50 African nations and is now continuing its five-continent journey to another 33 countries around the world.

" travel more than 138,902 kilometres or more than three times the circumference of the earth. "
“Coca-Cola is proud to be bringing the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour to New Zealand. In recognition of New Zealand qualifying for the FIFA World Cup™ Coca-Cola is giving people the opportunity to celebrate in the lead up to the FIFA World Cup™ by seeing the trophy,” says Gareth Edgecombe, President, Coca-Cola South Pacific.

The tour, which began its journey from the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland on September 21st, 2009 will visit 84 countries and travel more than 138,902 kilometres or more than three times the circumference of the earth.

The Trophy Tour was developed through an exclusive partnership between FIFA and Coca-Cola, a FIFA Partner and one of the organisation’s longest standing corporate partners. Coca-Cola thanks the many people involved in helping to get The FIFA World Cup Trophy to visit New Zealand including Ryan Nelsen, Captain of the All Whites, New Zealand Football, FIFA and all the New Zealand football fans, who have been hoping to see the Trophy since the All Whites qualified.

Plans for the visit are still being finalised and more details will be issued as the plans are completed.
