Heard Ian Smith say last year that when he was asked to commentate for Sky he thought it was going to be on cricket only, but they asked him to commentate on rugby too, he replied, ” but I don’t know much about rugby ” well, he was certainly spot on there… in the Shield match last night a Wgtn lock was sent to the sin-bin about 3 minutes before half time & Hawkes Bay were about 20 metres out from the Wgtn goal line, H.B. chose to kick the ball about 5 metres out from our goal line, Smith said, ” that’s a brave call ” rubbish ! was a no-brainer to go for a try, kicking the ball out a few metres from our goal line, then set up a rolling maul against a 7 men pack.
