Is Fraser stone a big power lock ? could of done with another 125kg lock like Broadhurst in the squad.
Yeah, your tight five were very impressive, Canes starting tight five are pretty good, but off the beach we’ve never had much depth there, tend to agree some of those players in your tight five would of made our forward squad stronger, don’t really rate the Frankenstein { Franks } brothers either.
Vito is only 27, hardly old, the Smith/Nonu is clearly our best combo going into the WC.
Totally disagree about Perenara, after getting stuff all game time for the AB’s he played brilliantly for wgtn in our last game, the bloke made a huge diff in helping us win our only match of the season… I have no doubt whatsoever that Perenara is the best all-round half back in NZ, how the hell can he make an impression for the AB’s when most times he comes on with 20 minutes to go or less, on quite a few occasions the last 5 minutes of the match ?
Aaron Smiths running game has improved, as has Perenara’s passing game, but like SBW with his off-loading Smith’s passing game is easily the strongest part of his game, so being behind a Rolls-Royce AB pack he looks a million dollars, what concerns me is when we play a team like S.A.& things get really tight Perenara needs to come on a lot earlier, he’s a much bigger about 95kg, very quick, has all the skills, scores quite a few tries close to the line, probably more than any other halfback… point is we have two very good halfbacks, so we should be using both, not just one, also if Aaron Smith gets injured at the WC Perenara would of had stuff all time to get his combo going with the 1st-five.
