Ok, I just spotted this and it anchors my belief over the New Zealand summer that both players are knocking on the door for selection to the top team, in one form or other. Wagner seems to have the goods to perform well with the ball, but my interest is the rise of Nicol especially seeing as how he has reinvented himself playing for Canterbury. Sure say the knockers, How displayed similar domestic form before he was tried, but I feel Nicol has a different approach to his craft.
Obviously he's a possible for the ODI and T20 lne up only, but we do need another form batsmen at the top to allow Ginga Gup to slot into his preferred 3 spot. And he does roll his arm over too so could be used as the 6th bowler, if there is room for him. With Styris closing on retirement and Franklin not really firing, there is room for another batsmen and part time bowler.
