Well do recall that that the last campaign was a round robin-ish one-off tournament. This is a proper qualifying group, with home and away games. An away loss against Vanuatu would not have been the end of the world by any means, and now with two away wins from two games they are sitting pretty.
However the real crux comes in the playoff game, having to play the 5th Asian team. Although not as daunting perhaps as the old South American play-off, it will undoubtedly be against a far superior team.
