Having given this some thought, I can see it’s the next big thing (so to speak) 50,000 people at Cooney Island and live ESPN coverage for a previously unheard of professional sport is bloody impressive.
But how does it work at grass-roots level? How do you go from being Buster Cherry to the guy being likened to Woods / Ali etc?
Lets face it, 54 hot-dogs in 12 minutes would take a little bit of training; do Nancy Restaurants run a semi-professional league? And who have we got in this country to fill the void?
