My head hurts. That article sums up why rugby is becoming as bad as America Cup regulations….
So a straight throw to the lineout is “”between the inside shoulders of both lines of players”. Sorry, but that doesn’t clear up a thing for me. Is that the outside of the inside shoulder, the middle of an inside shoulder, in the inside inside shoulder. And given that everyone’s moving at the time, how is a ref meant to remember where all these shoulders were in the first place?
And that’s before we get onto when a line-out is deemed to finished (when the ball have moved off the line of touch??)…
BTW, I’m not sure that Jack can take any credit whatsoever for the fact that lineouts are now contested..
