Where am I from? A country called New Zealand.
I vary my allegiances from WC to WC, depending on the style of play and attitude adopted by the countries at it. For example, I wanted Argentina to go further in the comp than what happened because of some of their sublime play; in other tournaments I’ve wanted to see their arses kicked ASAP.
I have nothing against Italy as a nation; they have always had some of the best fans; great food, wine, and one of the best sinking cities in the world.
What I’ve never been able to get my head around is the disparity between the flair of their fans and nation, and the cynical, manipulative, negative way they play football.
