This is one thing FIFA has right (easier in a global game I guess)
As soon as you represent a nation in an age-group comp (from U16 I think), that’s it.
The Irish, under the Charlton regime, used this rule to great effect waving all sorts of offers in front of 15 year-olds who had a cat called Paddy.
