The closest thing the NPC ever got to the Finals Week concept was in 1994 with the Battle of the Bridge final, cashing in on the fact that both teams were around in the same city for the week. I think they may have had a finals breakfast / lunch as well.
And what a f**king brilliant idea that was too; giving us the best final of all time.
