Changes to entertainment
It’s true; rugby may never be the same again. Each of Genesis Taranaki’s home games has a theme and appropriately, it start tonight with GIRL’S NIGHT OUT.
TRFU chief executive Paul Easton says the strategy is a deliberate attempt to target non-rugby fans.
“In the past it’s probably fair to say that rugby has catered for rugby fans. That has naturally brought the perception that unless you are interested in rugby, there’s no reason to go.
“We aim to change that and we’re confident that we have got the entertainment package to suit everyone. Whether it is friends being able to have a quiet glass of wine together in the new indoor Concourse café, watching the latest fashions in the fashion show while listening to the live music, or secondary school students coming along to be with their friends and catch the different bands around the ground.”
Mr Easton said at 6.05pm the Genesis Taranaki-Wellington game would naturally take centre stage, but the Concourse café would remain open.
“We wish both Andrew Hore and Jason Eaton all the best while they are on international duty, but there is no doubt that Jason’s mullet hair-style has attracted plenty of interest so we thought it would only be fitting to introduce a new competition in his honour.”
And to enter it couldn’t be simpler. Just start growing your hair into a mullet-style, turn up to the rugby, enter the competition and if it is anything like Jason’s you could well be among the prizes.
