[QUOTE=SiNZ
The positive that I take away from the tournament for England is Aaron Lennon. Watching the 2005/06 Premiership season I was forced to shelve my usual distaste for Tottenham and express admiration for them. [/QUOTE]
Oh come on.
Lennon was not the only creative Spurs midfielder to be under-utilised by England in a World Cup campaign.
Remember that Hoddle was played at right back for some of the defensive 82 campaign, and Waddle was only brought on when it was too late against Argentina in 86. Interestingly, England’s most successful campaign was 1990 when they did let a Spurs midfielder properly loose (helped by Spurs striker of course)
BTW, SiNZ; I realise you’re a B&HA supporter. But do you have a proper tem you follow as well?
