I have just finished watching the sports news, predictably it was led by the news that Wellington has been granted the A league license and professional soccer (I refuse to call it football after the article in Sundays SST) has been saved at the 11th hour in NZ by the generous actions of one man.
For me the interesting point was the comment by Dow or Seater (I cannot remember which one said it) that they were contacted by Mr Serepisos last week after he (Serepisos) heard about the plight of pro soccer in NZ ON THE RADIO.
Dow is the same man who just two weeks ago was telling us that the funding was in hand, it now appears that was a bare faced lie and in typical NZ soccer fashion they were all talk and no action
We now know that;
I applaud the actions of Mr Serepisos, my only hope is that he looks upon this as a donation because he sure as hell is not going to make any money out of it.
