Eden Park has been the historical home of cricket and rugby, and hosted 2 particularly memorable events in 1956, but that doesn’t mean times don’t change. I’ve got over not having Athletic Park.
We also need to get over the “things may go wrong / get held up” mentality.
As for the money thing; it’s easy to charge a room / airport tax over a period of time for such an obvious improvement to tourist desirability. New walls at Eden Park doesn’t meet that criteria.
BTW, what I’m picking up from comments in the media on this is an issue split be and age divide.
That’s not counting the “experts” with a vested interest like Fisher, that Moller control freak on BT’s show this morning, or the head of Ports of Auckland.
