Auckland club rugby has always been f**ked because Ponsonby take all the talented juniors.
They win the Gallaher Shield as often as they want and occasionally take a rest and other sides win for a year or two, so they get their sh*t together and start winning again.
Smith absolutely smoked Waitemata in the final last year, it was depressing.
