They do get a Minor Premiership trophy (and, from memory, a few $$$ as well).
I think more emphasis is placed on the NRL Minor Premiership for two reasons – history, and the fact that it is a 25 week competition. A lot harder to maintain form for a 25 week comp than the 10 rounds in the Air NZ Cup for example.
