New Zealand MVP points from yesterday
0With all the excitement of yesterday those MVP points almost got overlooked. You would think following such a huge victory there would be several players queuing up for points, but with 70% of the runs and wickets going to two people it is not that straight forward.
- Vettori. Once again, New Zealand’s most economical bowler, and his wicket of Morgan led to the game being turned on its head.
- Boult. His eight overs at the top of the innings maintained the new ball pressure, and he could have dismissed Balance about five times.
- B McCullum. A truly memorable innings. It is hard to know which stat to pick at to sum it up best but 25 balls, 8 fours and 7 sixes is a start.
- Southee, Best ODI figures by an New Zealander, and invoking the memory of Hadlee.
