Karori Park – Day Three
1So, since the successful first day’s play there’s been a bit of rain.
A lot of rain actually, we’ve only had around 30 minutes more play and that was yesterday. There’s been the inevitable stoppages for bad light too, and today the wind got up to 120 kph.
As you can see, the sightscreen is clinging to those containers, but only just.
And here’s the Makara end of the ground.
Good effort on the marquee front for all three of them to still be standing.
But lets have a closer look at that sightscreen.
That’s right; there’s no canvas to be seen. It’s gone; ripped to pieces by the gale and is scattered around the suburb’s hills.
So what happened is that someone turned up at lunchtime with quite a lot of paint and proceeded to paint two large containers white. In the pouring rain and > 100 kph winds.
Seriously; how cool is that?
And spot which part of this is not part of the covers or a sandbag but part of the former sightscreen.
