Dragons 19 Panthers 12
The Red V get it done in a somewhat scrappy affair. The Panthers really let themselves down in the crucial parts of the match. It was a pretty average looking match, but the Dragons were deserved of their win. Still well and truly in the hunt for a Top 8 finish.
Bulldogs 32 Rabbitohs 18
It was a first half that had plenty of bite for the Bulldogs, as they chewed up the Bunnies in emphatic fashion so much so they couldn’t come back from it. Once again the Canterbury side are building nicely at the right time of the year under Hasler. The Rabbitohs bus is breaking down….. and it’s not a good look.
Sharks 40 Tigers 18
It was a Shark attack, and the Tigers did not survive. They staged a second half comeback but it was never enough as the Sharks blew them off the park in the final 20. What a season the boys from the Shire are having. Shame you can’t say the same about the Tigers who are all roar and no bite.
Cowboys 50 Warriors 16
Wow. 50 unanswered points by the Cowboys was just impressive to witness, unless you were one of the 17 Warriors players on the field. The Cowboys are just ruthless, and they have cool heads and never get overwhelmed by the pressure of the opposition. Flawless 60 minutes.
Roosters 12 Broncos 10
This was a phenomenal match, one of the best of the season. Despite being reduced to a one man bench, the Roosters dug deep in a performance which saw them go top of the league, and get their 10th win in a row. The Broncos were just as physical, but there was a goal in it. Showing just how good these teams are. Hard to separate.
Titans 28 Raiders 12
The Titans went off with a bang in a game of “who wants to drop the ball the most”. The amount of errors in this game was frustrating as viewer, and would have been even more so as a coach. The Titans did enough late to get away. The Raiders have thrown their season away.
Eels 20 Sea Eagles 16
Wow, I did NOT see this result coming. Especially the way the Manly side have been playing over the last six weeks. In a wet Brookie bowl, the Eels defence stood out in a sloppy match. The Sea Eagles will be well and truly disappointed in their performance, and the Eels still hold out a bleak finals beacon of hope.
Knights 20 Storm 6
Well here is the upset of the round! The Knights pulled out a mere miracle to defy the Storm at AAMI Park. The Storm have now lost three games to a team sitting in last place this season. Ouch! The Knights played a much better game than the Storm, and they never really looked like beating the Knights
