Sporting Pics of the Week : July 12

The Ashes have started.  Jimmy Anderson; you are normally OK, but not sure about this one.  It’s pretty hard to make you feel for Michael Clarke in a photo but you did it just there.

The white, the beige, the off-white, the ivory.  Australia in the traditional dirty off-white, England are in a Persil ad.

Online polls are a dubious business at best, and here’s the result of Cricket Australia’s lengthy search to find their best ever cricketer.  And look at that; it’s Bradman.  But he only just got there; proof that polls like this are stacked in favour of recent events and people.

If you didn’t catch it earlier, Andy Murray won the Men’s Wimbledon title during the week.  He was the first Briton to win a singles title there for 36 years. But don’t tell the Times of London that.

And how did he do that?  He had a little old man in his bag.
