Sporting Pics of the Week : November 29
2What a week it has been. This Ashes series got uglier earlier than normal. This weekly segment tries to steer away from flogging pictures from sites like the Guardian, but this one of Cook immediately following the conclusion of the test at the Gabba was too good to ignore.
It wasn’t all high at the Gabba drama though; here’s Brett Lee at a lunch break. Bless.
So the England team went to lick their wounds at a place called Ellery Creek next to Alice Springs. Nothing like a Poms on tour photo. Matching towels etc
Meanwhile the Sydney Daily Telegraph scraped a new barrel. The funny thing is by superimposing a smug Michael Clarke into the shot they managed to make him seem even more unctuous than normal to the rest of us.
New Zealand wins the Rugby League World Cup semi-final v England at Wembley. And don’t they know it?
Meanwhile their Union cousins are at the Random Marketing Photo Opportunity cupboard. Is Dagg in the mascot position because of his try drought? Wouldn’t Aaron Smith would have been the more logical option? The only thing missing from this picture is the guy from the MasterCard ad.
Super Rugby isn’t that far away either. Here are the Bulls revealing their new away strip.
From the archives. Sam Allardyce is becoming a bit of a regular in this slot. Here he is back in his playing days and he’s barely recognisable. But what’s he actually doing?
Thanks to Peter Darlington and Russell Jackson
