The contrarian view – 10 reasons why all of New Zealand should cheer loudly and proudly for the Crusaders on Saturday night.
01. They have Ritchie “McAwesomeness” McCaw playing – enough said.
2. At least it’s not the Chiefs with those ghastly Cow Bells and German colour scheme playing again.
3. All the Hurricanes have been too busy playing Club Rugby for the last three weeks.
4. They have Nemani Nadolo playing (he’s 2014’s version of Rupeni Caucaunibuca).
5. Those Whitelock boys are all from the Manawatu which is part of the Hurricanes catchment area (for now anyway).
6. It will be funny listening to the Crusaders try and mention and thank all the provinces in their catchment at the trophy ceremony (Nelson Bays, Buller, West Coast, Mid-Canterbury etc etc).
7. At least Dan Carter never went on Letterman.
8. Ryan Crotty’s beard – looks like he’s on back from active duty on the Western Front.
9. Anyone ever heard the Waratah’s Coach Michael Cheika speak – try it and see if you can last beyond 15 seconds.
10. Corey Flynn – the guys had more broken arms than Mal Meninga but this is his 151st (and last) game for the Crusaders.
