For all the talk of the demise of Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, they are one of six unbeaten teams going into week 5 of the NFL. Manning certainly has lost the zip he showed in the first half of last season and it seems he is on a slow decline in what will probably be his last season.
The Broncos defence has won their games so far this season especially the game against Kansas City Chiefs where there forced turnovers led to a game winning touchdown. They are playing a different game to last season which was all about offence.
The Raiders were deemed one of the most dysfunctional teams in the NFL in recent seasons however maybe they are beginning to show some maturity and sticking to a strategy. Second year Quarterback Derek Carr is looking like he has the potential and new head coach (and ex Bronco’s defensive guru) Jake Del Rio is starting to make the Raiders a competitive force. Their fans are still the worst in the NFL in terms of both game day looks and attitude however on the field they are no easy beat.
The bookies have given the Raiders a 5 point start against a Bronco defence that will make life hard for Carr and his offensive targets. That’s less than a touchdown however it’s possibly about right – and it also finally shows some respect to a Raiders team that may notch up a few more wins this season then many predicted. The Broncos should take this one though – just.
