Getting Darty
0Next month sees the arrival of an exciting new concept on the NZ sporting scene.
Super League Darts hits three North Island venues throughout September, and it promises to be a fantastic event. Organiser Mark Hudson of 265 Events has drawn the top eight players from across the country to tour Wellington, Hamilton and Auckland.
Rob “The Hurricane” Szabo – the man who took a set off Phil “The Power” Taylor and gave him one hell of a fright in last year’s Ladbrokes World Champs – will be competing, as will this year’s hope at the World Champs, Mark “Cowboy” McGrath.
In May, 265 Events created the Festival of the Darts, which was a huge success in Wellington. Those lucky enough to be there were extremely impressed, and the popularity meant that it was only a matter of time before they went bigger and better with Super League Darts.
Details for the events are:
Saturday 6th September – Shed 6, Wellington
Friday 19th September – Clarence Street Theatre, Hamilton
Saturday 20th September – Trusts Stadium Waitakere, Auckland
Wellington and Hamilton are close to selling out, so you’ll have to get in quick to get a seat. Sales for Auckland have been so successful (corporate tables initially sold out in 10 minutes – there’s more available on sale now) that the event has been shifted to the main arena at Trusts Stadium to accommodate demand.
You’ve seen it on the TV, now go soak up some atmosphere and watch it live!
