OK, we all know the English Premier League is a marathon and not a sprint, there is the small matter of 36 matches left in the season, the squad hasn’t really been strengthened from last season, and that spot currently occupied by Aston Villa will soon start acting as a magnet.
Spurs fans know all that; expectations of disappointment are ingrained into the collective psyche. So that is why it’s important to enjoy this moment, however irrelevant it is, when it comes along. Last season Spurs managed to score four goals in a match only once.
The nay-sayers will note that those two matches were not the toughest, but the same could be said of Swansea too.
