Canterbury won handily enough, although one did have to wonder whether things might have turned out had the umpire not missed Andy Ellis leg glancing off the middle of the bat straight into the keeper’s gloves before he’d scored. The sort of decision that makes me think they should be using DRS so the really obvious stuff can be corrected – don’t need expensive snicko, hotspot or ball tracking for a decision such as that one.signman said :
Yeah, a batsman that wasn’t given out when he should of being can be vital to the outcome of any match, as that batsman can go on & make a big score, whereas had he be given out the scoring rate slows downs, then there’s every chance of getting the new batsman out early as he wouldn’t of had time to get his eye in properly.-

Yes, Milne’s spell was very demanding. Speed gun mainly had him around 143-145kph but the ball was fair zipping off the surface and absolutely rocketing into the keeper’s gloves. He was a class above any other bowler I saw (admittedly only saw the second innings) although Ben Wheeler also bowled well and looks quite promising.signman said :
Excellent news about Milne, NZ is shaping up as a very exciting team for next years WC… we have never had so much depth in our bowling, great to hear another one coming through in Wheeler.Great to see the horse-scratchers from across the ditch getting a bit of a thrashing… I suppose the ‘ disarray ‘ thing doesn’t really seem to matter
much when it comes to teams like Pakistan & India Pie Chucker, they’ve always had stuff like infighting etc going on throughout the years, when I made that ‘ disarray ‘ comment I sort of had a feeling they might still play well, hope they don’t perform as good when we play them, hahaha, going to be a hell of a challenge for our mob.Missed the match, wish I’d seen Milne bowl, having his extreme pace is going to be massive plus for us, not much good being 150 plus if you’re to spray it all over the place though, just before he got injured he was not only very quick but accurate too, sounds like he had a pretty accurate spell last night ?
Tonight : 9.30pm { Melbourne }
Phoenix v Melbourne Victory
Sky Sport 1Merrick is complaining about his midfield not holding onto the ball enough, which is where the game is controlled from… well, why the hell is he playing a very creative midfielder partly as a striker & partly in midfield ??? Christ, just play him in the midfield.

USA were always going to be well beaten, but they did impress at times, especially in the first half, taking the ball up through heaps of phases.
NZ A squad to play 4. 50-over games in the U.A.E next month.
Ryder’s had a few final chances, this one without doubt being his last one, it’s now up to him to make the most of it & perform well on the field & not act like a idiot off it, great to see Milne back playing, those two would clearly be a big plus to the Squad & get back half our top order that didn’t play against S.A. & we are looking bloody good for the WC.

Reserves : Keven Mealamu, Wyatt Crockett, Ben Franks, Brodie Retallick, Liam Messam, Augustine Pulu, Dan Carter, Julian Savea.
Sun – 9th Nov. v England { London } – 3:30am
Sun – 16th Nov. v Scotland { Edinburgh } – 6:30am
Sun – 23rd Nov. v Wales { Cardiff } – 6:30amIs Fraser stone a big power lock ? could of done with another 125kg lock like Broadhurst in the squad.
Yeah, your tight five were very impressive, Canes starting tight five are pretty good, but off the beach we’ve never had much depth there, tend to agree some of those players in your tight five would of made our forward squad stronger, don’t really rate the Frankenstein { Franks } brothers either.
Vito is only 27, hardly old, the Smith/Nonu is clearly our best combo going into the WC.
Totally disagree about Perenara, after getting stuff all game time for the AB’s he played brilliantly for wgtn in our last game, the bloke made a huge diff in helping us win our only match of the season… I have no doubt whatsoever that Perenara is the best all-round half back in NZ, how the hell can he make an impression for the AB’s when most times he comes on with 20 minutes to go or less, on quite a few occasions the last 5 minutes of the match ?
Aaron Smiths running game has improved, as has Perenara’s passing game, but like SBW with his off-loading Smith’s passing game is easily the strongest part of his game, so being behind a Rolls-Royce AB pack he looks a million dollars, what concerns me is when we play a team like S.A.& things get really tight Perenara needs to come on a lot earlier, he’s a much bigger about 95kg, very quick, has all the skills, scores quite a few tries close to the line, probably more than any other halfback… point is we have two very good halfbacks, so we should be using both, not just one, also if Aaron Smith gets injured at the WC Perenara would of had stuff all time to get his combo going with the 1st-five.

Once again the Hurricanes fail to deliver. Not only have they picked or stuck with QUOTE Wellington Talent UNQUOTE once again they fail to pick players that have shown real form over the past two years, those being from Manawatu and Hawkes Bay. How a former Premiership team manages to hog the playing roster when the two form teams in the region have consistently performed is begging belief. A slap in the face for both provinces.signman said :
Most of the wgtn players are AB’s, you’d have to pick them & the ones that are not are very good players, haven’t heard of Christian Lloyd though… on Manawatu { 3 } & Hawkes Bay { 6 } you make a fair point but those teams looked to have got more players in the 2015 squad compared to other years. What other players do you think deserve to be there ?

2 wins out of 3 is a good solid start, the 2 snails in defence still worry me though, probably one of the main reasons our marking is so poor on the flanks, going well as a unit, would ever go better if McGlinchey played in the midfield & Cunningham started as a striker… Riera & McGlinchey are by far the best 2 players in the team for setting up our strikers etc, so need both of them playing in the midfield FFS!!! ???

Another very good game, Tasman looked more creative & dangerous… goal kicking ended up been the diif, Banks goal kicking was pretty poor, lucky if he kicked 50%, whereas the Naki goal kicker got 100%
Well done to your mob SSMO… what a brilliant watch, again I have to mention the amazing depth we have in NZ, the pace, skill & execution under pressure was outstanding by both teams, either team could have taken out the game, looking forward to watching the Premiership final too.
