At least the ball lasted the match though; the same could not be said in Dunedin.

Fast forward a week, and Andrew Hore, 49, is a surprise call-up for Otago’s Championship final.  He’s upgraded his kit bag in his absence.  It almost looks a bit like a fishing rod case.

Cross-sport mash-ups taken to a whole new level.  An NFL game, played at Twickenham, promoted by LA Rams players awkwardly trying out their cricket skills.

A promotion to get women playing golf was launched that week.  That’s fine, but that’s some pretty in-our-face social stereotyping going on there, and in conflict with who our leading woman golfer is.  Some may argue there’s a lack of self-awareness there.

Meanwhile, Gary Player and Yao Ming enjoy a round together.
