Good 5-1 win to the Phoenix over Melbourne City… defence is still a big worry, especially down the sides, bloody poor coaching by Merrick for not fixing the problem, mind-boggling stuff.
1. Perth Glory { p8 } – 19pts
2. Melbourne Victory { p8 } – 18pts
3. Adelaide United { p8 } – 17pts
4. Sydney FCSydney { p8 } – 16pts
5. Wellington Phoenix { p8 } – 12pts
6. Central Coast Mariners { p8 } – 6pts
7. Melbourne City { p8 } – 6pts
8. Brisbane RoarBrisbane { p7 } – 4pts
9. Newcastle Jets { p8 } – 4pts
10. Western Sydney Wanderers { p7 } – 3ptsSuperb test win by NZ… went to bed about 1am, with Shafiq being such a good player of spin found it a very strange tactic that we continued to bowl spin from both ends for long periods.
Would of given McCullum Man Of The Match over Craig… it was McCullum’s excellent run rate that gave us the momentum to put us in the position to win the match, scoring a great double hundred.
NZ went really well in the 2nd test, but going even better in this 3rd one, we hit 22 6’s, breaking the world record for the number of 6’s in a test innings.
We have Pakistan 30 for 3 & they still trail by 309… brilliant swing bowling by Boult & Southee.
That was like watching ODI batting last night, great stuff !
Obviously NZ are showing a ton of respect for Hughes by not bowling any bouncers, this pitch has a bit more pace than the other two, but by not bowling bouncers on these slow piches it’s allowed us to apply quite a bit more pressure on Pakistan & Craig has cashed in on it… outstanding controlled aggression by McCullum, poor bowling by Pakistan though, overdone the bouncers, especially on these sort of wickets, which McCullum is taking full advantage of, hope it continues & they don’t wake up by bowling fuller & straighter.
With them winning the toss looked like they were going to get 500 plus, now we’re in an excellent position to put the squeeze on them.
Hopefully we win the toss.
3rd Test

Yeah, Roberts getting M.O.T.M. was a total joke, thought Piutau was a top contender for it.
We were always going to be up against it with Barnes as ref, so it proved again, unbelievable how many times he let Wales get away with playing the ball on the deck, eventually they tired in the last 20 minutes & with the depth we have on the bench ABs won comfortably.
SBW’s limitations as a 2nd-five were shown up yet again, if they’re going to persist with having him in the squad should bring him on in the last quarter of the match or so off the bench.
Congrats to Retallick for picking up IRB Player Of The Year, well deserved.

Sky Sport 1.ALL BLACKS : Ben Smith, Charles Piutau, Conrad Smith, Sonny Bill Williams, Julian Savea, Beauden Barrett, Aaron Smith, Kieran Read, Richie McCaw (c), Jerome Kaino, Sam Whitelock, Brodie Retallick, Owen Franks, Dane Coles, Wyatt Crockett.
Reserves : Keven Mealamu, Joe Moody, Charlie Faumuina, Patrick Tuipulotu, Liam Messam, TJ Perenara, Colin Slade, Ryan Crotty.WALES : Leigh Halfpenny, Alex Cuthbert, Jonathan Davies, Jamie Roberts, George North, Dan Biggar, Rhys Webb, Taulupe Faletau, Sam Warburton (captain), Dan Lydiate, Alun Wyn Jones, Jake Ball, Samson Lee, Richard Hibbard, Paul James.
Reserves : Scott Baldwin, Nicky Smith, Rhodri Jones, Luke Charteris, Justin Tipuric, Mike Phillips, James Hook, Liam Williams. Our spinners performed poorly on the 5th day, bowled too short & wide & didn’t use the footmarks enough… that said, it was a massive improvement from the 1st test, weren’t able to force the win but won more sessions than them, so gives us some momentum going into the last test.
