28th Sep – Cant v Southland { ChCH } – 4:35pmI’m a lot more comfortable with Fekitoa playing at 2nd-five & with Conrad Smith there to guide him I’m expecting him to go very well.
This crap where a players partner is about to have a baby & that player has to leave the squad at the ‘ last minute ‘ is getting really annoying !!! { Cole’s been the latest one } just disrupts the team, if a player isn’t sure whether they’ll be able to play or not they should just pull out of the squad for a certain period, 10.30 Sunday morning is a good time to watch the test.
AB’s v Argies

Yeah, like Super Rugby a fair bit of the ITM Cup format is ludicrous… as you’re basically saying just have one comp with 14 teams & play each other once, having the 2 comps with crossover games & teams not all getting play each over is just a complete bloody shambles.
Would like to see all the midweek games cut out, just have one match on a Friday night, play the rest of the matches in daytime on Saturday & Sunday.
Don’t mind changing 2 or maybe 3 players each game, the fact was he was changing well over half the team each game, on some occasions the whole team,
by doing so you’re never going to get the best performance out of your team combinations/continuity wise.Losing two 1st-Fives in the same game is just unlucky, injuries are going to happen anyway, it’s a physical game.
One of the main reasons they struggled against France was because they were very disjointed, due to henry basically not starting the same team leading up to that tournament, our tactics were very poor that day as well.
Henry used some very silly tactics as coach, one been especially silly, getting our players to hold onto the ball close to our own goal line trying to work the ball upfield keeping it in hand in the forwards, obviously should of just kicked the ball out upfield or at least kick the ball away from our goal line, the astonishing thing to me is that they just didn’t do it in one game they played 3 or 4 games in a row like that until they finally decided to drop that crazy tactic.
Yeah, after a loss it makes you focus on what you did wrong, but why should a team have to lose a game to make them refocus again, shouldn’t come into the mindset, you go out there to try & win each game as it comes.
On Henry, never rated him much as a coach… what a complete shambles 2007 was,
rugby has heaps to do about continuity, at least leading into the last year before the 2007 RWC Henry should of been playing his best 15 on the field every test, Christ, that was just waiting for a car crash to happen.Yeah, there’s some very good 1st-fives out there… only problem is Wgtn or the Canes don’t like to buy in players, which has being a huge downfall over the years by them, can’t remember how many times that I’ve said that I wanted the Canes to Buy in some quality forwards year after year.
Agreed, other than the injuries there’s no excuses for those lacklustre performances & a real lack of concentration, making far too many basic mistakes a lot of times with hardly any pressure on them.
Christ, it’s going to be embarrassing if we drop down to the championship, looking very likely though.
Other than Wgtn really enjoying the games, Wgtn were very poor yet again, but
was very impressed with Tasman, in fact most of the teams are playing good rugby. How good are those 1st-fives SSMO ?
Bloody ridiculous the other day when Henry said it wouldn’t be a bad thing if the AB’s lost a match before the WC, rubbish !!! the AB’s are as good as what they are because they always look to improve from their last game, whether that match was an average one or a very good one, same can be said of anything anyone does, if you ‘ always look to improve ‘ it keep your standards up.
Some idiots are blaming Boyd for Wgtn’s performances, what utter crap !
Boyd got Wgtn to the final last year against Cant. What’s really stuffed Wgtn are the heaps of injuries { feel sorry for Boyd & Shields } we’ve used 5 lst-fives in 6 matches so far & because of the huge overall injury count we’ve being forced to use club players that are clearly not good enough to play at this level.
